Job Description
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day shift, 1st and 2nd 8-hour shift.
Location: Windsor, CT
SUMMARY
Proficient in the operation of a slitter/rewinder as well as inspection of the finished product. Responsible for the overall quality of the final printed product, packaging, and shipping, as well as the overall condition of the equipment and work area. Assist press operators as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for job setup, as follows:
· Review job tickets for specified finishing instructions.
· Ensure all necessary materials (packaging) and information is on hand prior to the start of job.
· Set job up per instructions on work order.
· Change blades on holder (or slitter wheels if running shear) as needed.
· Setup, operate and adjust rewinder for optimal performance.
2. Responsible for the production of job, as follows:
· Inspect and ensure quality of print and die-cut including:
· Color
· Register
· Die strike (die-cut)
· Free of imperfections, such as hickeys, broken type, etc.
· Ensure the samples are of the best quality possible
· Package product per client instructions
· Maintain inventory of packing materials
3. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
4. Maintain an awareness of schedule, achieving the best possible production speeds.
5. Accurately record production of finished product.
6. Communicate maintenance needs, supply and safety issues to management.
7. Complete end-of-shift/job reports, as required.
8. Perform maintenance as needed. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, as required.
9. Comply with company rules, regulations and standard operating procedures.
10. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
11. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve quality and operating efficiency of the department.
12. Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
13. Perform other related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Trade school, high school or GED preferred plus 2-3 years of rewinding experience on narrow webs or equivalent.
COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of Label Traxx software
