Revit Modeler - Designer

BHC Consultants is a consulting engineering, planning, and building code and construction compliance firm with offices in Seattle, Tacoma, and Bellingham. We are looking for a full-time Revit Modeler-Designer. Collaboration with staff in all offices should be expected; preferred location can be prioritized.

GENERAL SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Revit Modeler-Designer with expertise in Revit building and utility systems to join our team. This role will be instrumental in contributing to our projects by creating accurate and detailed Revit building models to support design and construction of municipal projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural or engineering drafting, with a keen eye for detail and proficiency in Revit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Develop detailed BIM models using Revit software according to project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure accurate representation of design intent in BIM models.
• Create Revit families using vendor cut sheets or sketches.
• Ability to exchange information with Revit using other file types (STEP, RISA, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Review and analyze architectural and engineering drawings to determine relevant information for inclusion in BIM models.
• Assist in clash detection and resolution by identifying and addressing conflicts within BIM models.
• Generate 2D drawings, sections, and details from BIM models for construction documentation purposes.
• Maintain BIM standards and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
• Provide support and training to team members on Revit software and BIM processes as needed.
• Competence in conventional AutoCAD - able to create or modify drawings based on design information provided by engineers.
• Interpret design concepts and determine nature and type of required working drawings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree is helpful, but not required.
• 4+ years working as a BIM Technician, BIM designer, or similar role.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software.
• Strong understanding of BIM concepts and practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
• Experience with MS Project preferred.
• Knowledge of other BIM software (e.g., Navisworks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
• Certification in Revit or BIM-related software is preferred.

• Must have sound time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing).
• Must be able to occasionally work overtime to meet project deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and in teams.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

• Washington State Driver's License and insurable driving record required.
