Organization

The national Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) at the University of Oklahoma maintains a Best Practices Registry (BPR) for suicide prevention programs and interventions. The BPR uses a diverse cadre of program reviewers to evaluate suicide prevention programs submitted by program developers and serves as a centralized resource for sharing those reviews with practitioners in the field. 

The Best Practices Registry Senior Program Manager will manage BPR program administration overseeing resources, processes and procedures, and staff and consultants. Primary responsibilities include recruiting, training, and organizing program reviewers; developing and managing the program submitter and reviewer portals; and identifying and managing documentation and process updates related to the BPR. Successful candidates will have a familiarity with program evaluation, scoring rubrics, and suicide prevention research literature.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Work together with program reviewers to conduct and oversee reviews of suicide prevention programs and interventions submitted to the BPR.
  • Manage and monitor the work of multiple contractors, including program reviewers, information technology and technical assistance consultants, and website developers. This includes identifying appropriate deliverables, drafting scopes of work to address them, tracking progress, and directing work.
  • Monitors BPR project and development of long-range plans to provide a high level oversight of contractor outreach, recruiting, and work assignments and work closely with financial staff to monitor invoicing.
  • Work to ensure that the voices and perspectives of historically excluded and underserved people groups are included in the design, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvements of the BPR. This will primarily be done through collaboration with SPRC advisory councils and contributing partners.
  • Oversees project management by working with the BPR team to design, implement, and evaluate multiple workflows, such as the review process, application processes, and website revisions, to achieve goals in alignment with SPRC and the BPR. This includes, but is not limited to, writing and revising internal policies and procedures, training, and technical assistance.
  •  Direct and plans for needs assessment of applicants, website users, and reviewers and lead technical assistance efforts via troubleshooting, communicating with reviewers and applicants, and development of support materials. Technical assistance is provided to reviewers, submitters, and website users.
  • Develops BPR goals and objectives to plan, manage, and provide input and content for public-facing products, such as websites, handouts, guides, submission applications, and more. 
  • Ensures the evaluation of BPR by utilizing data to create and implement plans for process and systems improvements.
  • Engage program and intervention developers and increase application submissions.
  • Lead the program and intervention listing process through the entire life cycle of submission; this includes submission of program applications, completion of reviews, and public listing on the BPR website. This is done through an online customer relationship management platform, working closely with the SPRC communications team.
  • Maintain content knowledge on current suicide prevention research, updates, innovations, and advancements, including upstream suicide prevention developments in reducing risk and promoting protective factors.
  • Conduct informative workshops, training, and presentations for BPR end users, application submitters, and reviewers.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

This position may be located remotely or in the Norman, Oklahoma office.


    Job Location

    Required Education and Experience: Master's degree, AND: 

    • 36 months of program administration or related experience. 

    Equivalency/Substitution:  will accept 72 months of related experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.

    Skills:

    • Familiarity and experience with program evaluation, scoring rubrics, and data management systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify the key sections of a research study (methods, limitations, statistical findings, etc.) and to paraphrase sections from research articles.
    • Significant experience with data-driven decision-making and collaboration within and across multiple departments or systems.
    • Experience conducting systematic literature reviews.
    • Experience with Sales Force or a similar Customer Relationship Management platform.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google drive.
    • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication and cultural competence skills.
    • Demonstrated care and commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
    • Record of contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within the organization.
    • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

    Working Conditions:

    • Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively and listen. Use of a computer. Manual dexterity.
    • Standard Office Environment.

    Departmental Preferences:

  • Master’s degree in public health, Social Science, behavioral health, or related field 
  • 60+ months of experience in managing/ leading suicide prevention projects that includes program development, data analysis, and/or evaluating suicide prevention programs and practices.
