Job Title: Revenue Cycle Specialist
Reports To: Revenue Cycle Manager
Department: Billing
Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for maintenance of various Revenue Cycle processes to support a variety of business units for CHS. These areas include facility credentialing, oversight of website access, completion of third-party audits that relate to billing, and oversight of various billing related worklists within Meditech. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, accurate typing skills, knowledge of office procedures, and ability to work independently required.
General Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures all third-party post billing audits are completed accurately and timely.
- Provides access for various payor websites to new hires, reviews and maintains to ensure access and permissions are appropriate.
- Completes facility credentialing for both Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital to include maintenance of shared file of updated documentation needed for credentialing process.
- Responsible for review and resolve of errors for selected work lists in Meditech, tracking and trending errors for use as feedback to departments.
- Flexibility in assuming other appropriate responsibilities and duties not noted above
- Meets performance, productivity and quality goals metrics
- Attends and participates in department staff meetings and other meetings as assigned
- Responsible for escalating issues and trends to Revenue Cycle Director or Manager
- Special projects as assigned
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma/GED with 5 years' Revenue Cycle experience or
- Associates Degree with 2 years' Revenue Cycle experience
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years' Revenue Cycle experience in an institutional setting.
- Medical terminology with working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
- Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. use of computer keyboard). May require use of lifting and carrying light loads (up to 10 pounds). Sitting or standing/walking for long periods of time.
