Includes all aspects of global operations pertinent to training, quality, and monitoring of staff and enforcing standards and procedures, responsibility for facilitating consistency between revenue cycle functions. Organizes and implements workflow plans, ensuring that the standards of quality set forth by the Director are maintained by all staff. Regulatory oversight. Assists the Director in the development, interpretation, and application of department policies as well as identifying organizational goals and objectives that are consistent with the mission of Carilion Clinic. Manages work plans for service-line deliverables. Assists the Director with operations activities for the organization in compliance with the organization's and government policies. Reviews operations systems and procedures, and recommends improvements to increase efficiency. Supervises operational activities within a single or multi-functional area of the organization providing assistance and direction.
- Applies key financial concepts and analysis to decision making. Develops and implements actionable work plans with measurable outcomes. Continually assesses and reallocates resources to meet demands
- As key liaison with clients, Carilion personnel, and external resources, holds self and team accountable for maintaining the highest possible performance standards, professionalism and ethical behavior
- Inspires enthusiasm and builds support for projects. Attracts, selects, develops, evaluates and retains qualified employees. Effectively uses developmental planning to expand employee skills and abilities, and addresses areas for improvement through coaching and or corrective action.
- Represents Revenue Cycle Management in interdisciplinary meetings, special projects and assignments as requested by Senior Leadership.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience required.
Experience: Minimum of five years Revenue Cycle experience in the areas of insurance billing, customer service, cash processing, finance, technical responsibilities or closely related experience required. Demonstrated project management expertise required. Human relation and effective communication skills, excellent organizational skills and multitasking required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Participation in professional trainings required:
Preferred Certification: CPAT, CPAM (AAHAM certification potential) but none required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent leadership, team building, and employee development skills. Well organized and detail oriented. Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, compose letters/memorandum, coordinate events, motivate others, organizational skills, research information, time management, train employees, written and verbal communications, supervisory skills. Detail oriented, with proven time management skills (including the ability to engage in multiple tasks and meet deadlines/standards) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
