Key Details:

• Pay: $18 per hour starting with the opportunity to grow.

• Location: 2479 NW 185th Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97006. New Team Members will initially train at Cedar Mill Liquor (13528 NW Cornell Road, Portland, OR 97229) until the new location is open.
• Schedule: Part-time and full-time positions available. Team members must be available to work nights and weekends.

Who You Are: We are seeking customer-focused and knowledgeable Retail Team Member’s to join our team at Sunset Liquor. A successful new Team Member should possess strong customer service and communication skills, adaptability, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset. Additionally, maintaining a positive attitude and ethical responsibility are key attributes for success in this role.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of liquor products and industry regulations is a plus, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Bending, stooping, and reaching to stock shelves and assist customers.

Position Overview: As a Retail Team Member, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service, assisting with product selection, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. A typical day will consist of:

Customer Service:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and product selection.
• Provide product recommendations and information on promotions or discounts.
• Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and courteous manner.

Product Knowledge:

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of liquor products, including types, brands, and characteristics.
• Keep up-to-date with new arrivals, trends, and industry developments.

Sales and Transactions:

• Ring up customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions, following all cash-handling procedures.
• Verify customer identification to ensure legal age for alcohol purchases.

Stocking and Merchandising:

• Restock shelves and displays to ensure products are readily available to customers.
• Monitor product inventory levels and inform management of low-stock items.
• Ensure merchandise is properly priced and labeled.

Store Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Perform regular checks for safety hazards and report any issues to management.

Compliance and Regulations:

• Adhere to all state and local regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.
• Verify the age of customers purchasing alcohol in accordance with legal requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
