The Retail Factory Store & Service Center is located in the Deer Park area and is set to open April 2024 – we need you! This will be a hands-on leadership position where you will be responsible for the productivity and profitability of the Retail Store from a day-to-day basis and have the opportunity to build your own team as the store continues to grow. Initially, the store will operate Monday through Friday and will then grow into a standard Monday through Saturday schedule once the team is established. The General Manager will perform several key functions such as:
Sales
- Manage sales floor and drive retail sales by delivering exceptional customer service; Drive sales by using upselling techniques and recommending appropriate alternate products when necessary;
- Establish rapport with customers and create relationships to build future customer-base; Generate leads, record customer information and distribute to main office when applicable;
- Provide customer feedback regarding product selection and fit to appropriate department;
Merchandising
- Manage product layout and sales floor organization; Market merchandise according to sales promotion, and setting up creative display plans;
- Ensure the store maintains excellent visual presentation at all times, keeping appearance consistent with Tyndale Image;
Operations
- Process all inbound merchandise shipments, in-store price changes and store-to-warehouse product transfers;
- Place orders in MAS 500, remove items from inventory, and utilize computer system for the entire order process; Communicate with headquarters when necessary;
- Manage to company required profitability objectives; Analyze monthly store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall store performance; Make recommendations and implement changes as needed;
- Handle daily financial responsibilities, such as performing nightly register reconciling and taking daily cash deposits to the bank.
Staff Management
- Supervise store employees through planning, assigning, and directing their daily workflow tasks; Coordinate necessary training to include company on-boarding, on-the-job training and Tyndale Academy modules;
- Ensure store is appropriately staffed through effective scheduling assignments for employees;
- Supervises sales transactions to ensure quick and accurate processing while adhering to cash protection procedures;
- Implement and follow all loss prevention procedures to minimize store shrinkage;
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred;
- Minimum 2 years of management experience, with a proven ability to increase store sales and profitability required;
- Strong knowledge of business practices in a retail environment;
- Proficient computer skills including a working understanding of MS Office products;
- Ability to quickly learn new software;
- Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion;
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build rapport with customers;
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload;
- Ability to train and motivate staff;
- Ability to move/lift up to 40lbs;
- Must have flexible scheduling availability, including working evenings and weekends;
