Retail Sales Associate

We are currently looking for full-time & part-time Retail Sales Associate to join our Team!

We are located in Old Town Scottsdale

Our store is open: 10AM to 6:30PM Sunday through Friday and 9AM to 7PM on Saturday

This Sales Associate Job Is For You, If You Would Enjoy: Helping others, understanding a customer's needs, and in turn providing an amazing customer service experience and assisting your team with general stock duties such as pricing and displaying merchandise.

Shades of the West Inc., founded in 1971, is an old-style South western trading post. We are located in the historic Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. We carry hand-forged Mexican hardware, western clothing, moccasins, Mexican folk art, and live cactus. The gourmet food section specializes in southwest spices, salsas, hot sauce, and other Arizona specialties. A large selection of sports apparel is available as well.

What We Will Offer You:

● Starting rate of pay of $15.00 per hour plus overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a week (time and a half the agreed regular rate of pay)

● Weekly Pay

● VACATION: Employees are granted one week (40 hours) of paid vacation after completing twelve months of active, full-time service (40 hours per week). Eligible employees are provided an additional week (40 hours) of vacation after completing two-year of active employment

● SICK: Eligible employees are granted 24 hours of paid sick leave per year (after 12 months of full-time employment).

● On-going Training & Development

Retail Sales Associate Key Responsibilities:

● Acknowledge and greet customers

● Communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees, and store management

● Know basic store layout to assist customers in their selection of products and be able to answer customer questions about the entire store

● Place stock orders, price, and display merchandise

● Communicate pricing and inventory issues with management

● Provide ongoing stock replenishment to the sales floor

● Protect all company assets, stock merchandise in stores

● Help maintain a neat, clean, organized store, which includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, and trash removal

● Answer incoming calls per company standards

● Perform related work as assigned

Required Qualifications:

● Must be 18 years of age

● Physical requirements include the ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, stand for extended periods of time, lift 25-50 pounds

● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities

● Good time-management skills and problem-solving abilities

● Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which includes weekends and holidays, based on store needs

● No prior experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 48 per week
