Job description

Schedule includes some evenings and weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Attendant/Assistant is a combination position requiring a positive attitude and strong desire to be an active part of the entire team at The Resort, first and foremost. This position is an administrative and customer service oriented position requiring administrative and clerical skills, retail skills and effective communication skills. A strong emphasis is placed on customer service and organizational skills. Being self-motivated, efficient and a great listener are required to succeed. The schedule is flexible, involving some weekend and evening work.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Customer service in all retail areas including point of sale with Silverware, gift packaging and other customer needs as they arise.
  • Up-selling purchases, when possible
  • Clean, stock, straighten and maintain the Inn Shops and Small Talk’s retail area.
  • Stock and maintain Leisure Center retail, Spa Orange retail and special occasion retail, as needed.
  • Monitor emails and calls for various clerical, administrative and customer service needs.
  • Help prevent shoplifting by being present and having open communication about potential concerns
  • Assist in monthly inventorying of all Inn Shops and Small Talk
  • Organize and maintain neat storage closets and areas for back stock.
  • Assist in merchandising.
  • Coordinate beverage orders for News, etc.
  • Coordinate order needs for snack and sundries order for News, etc. and Leisure Center
  • Receive including inspection and gathering any packaging paperwork for all retail deliveries (excluding golf shop deliveries)
  • Provide support to the Front Desk staff as overflow for answering telephone calls
  • Contact support services such as shuttle drivers, housemen, security, maintenance and other support staff for guests or fellow associates, as needed
  • Assist in contacting vendors for materials, catalogs, samples, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Logistics
  • Provide support to both the sales team and Executive Offices for amenities, as needed
  • Typing correspondence, as needed
  • Additional responsibilities, as directed, to help retail and the Executive Offices succeed.
  • Attend scheduled training seminars and department meetings.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates and purveyors to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  • Maintains a professional standard at Glade Springs to include but not limited to: appearance, verbal discussions, written correspondence and interactions with members, associates and guests. Does not discuss confidential items with fellow associates or work-related issues with members or guests.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Director of Logistics.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
