Overview of Position
The Retail Associate is the welcoming face of Nativa to our customers. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, a constant desire for self-improvement, and attention to detail. This entry-level, non-management position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company from the ground up, and to take on increasing levels of responsibility over time. This position is available Monday to Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Retail Associate include interacting with, educating, and advising customers face-to-face and by phone; record-keeping; assisting with inventory and cash management; interacting with local service providers; and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility inside and out.
- Greets customers in person or on the phone
- Perform sales tasks as required by the Assistant Retail Manager in compliance with Seneca Nation Cannabis Regulatory Authority (CRA) requirements
- Confidentially maintains customer records and verifies customer identity in compliance with CRA regulations and Company policy
- Answers questions about the CRA regulations and the Company from customers and others
- Assists customers in selecting products; advises and educates them about safe dosage and other aspects of the products
- Assists Assistant Retail Manager with inventory and cash management, daily and weekly
- Maintains a clean, safe, welcoming environment inside and outside the facility
- Understand the team schedule
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Retail Manager
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred
Work Experience Required
- 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry – hospitality and retail backgrounds and experience in a similar industry preferred
- Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept, lead, and complete additional projects or challenges
Required Knowledge
- Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
- Thorough understanding of CRA regulations governing cannabis usage
- Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management
- Familiarity with the history and varieties of cannabis preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements
- Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
- Reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years of age (mandated by the CRA)
Native Preference
- Seneca or Native preference applies, given to qualified applicants pursuant to the Seneca Nation of Indians’ Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance
