Job description

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all guests are served to brand standards in the restaurant/dining areas. Displaying the highest standards of hospitality and welcome to be demonstrated at all times within any food and beverage areas. Follows customer service guidelines to ensure high standards of quality in delivering guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets guests and presents them with a menu
  • Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any
  • Take food and beverage orders from the guest
  • Issuing receipts, accepting payments, return the change
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Using POS system to place orders along with any special requirements made by the
  • guest
  • Communicate with the guests and provide assistance regarding any questions or
  • concerns they may have
  • Serve food and beverage to the guest
  • Observe guests to ensure their satisfaction (i.e. Refills, ready for check, etc)
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Understand and communicate menu items
  • Work alongside the kitchen staff to ensure customer needs are being met
  • Positive communication with all members of each department within the hotel
  • Must understand the rule of product rotation to keep food products fresh and
  • minimize spoiling.
  • Responsible for stocking and replenishing food items and supplies
  • Beverage stations offering alcoholic beverages must be manned at all times during
  • an event. At no time is a guest permitted to serve themselves
  • Patron’s ID’s must be checked before serving

o A valid issued state, district, territorial, possession, provincial, national or
other equivalent driver’s license
o A state issued ID with photo and date of birth or valid passpor
o Military ID card with photo and date of birth

  • Must complete Alcohol Training, i.e. Brand Alcohol Awareness such as ServSafe, TIPS
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Previous serving experience preferred

Skills:

  • Teamwork oriented
  • An innate sense of urgency
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language

Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Will be exposed to cleaning agents and chemicals

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Front Office Manager, Peers,

and Field Operations at the corporate level

External: Guests - To provide customer service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to use sense of smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust or focus. A significant portion of time will be spent moving about the hotel and frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
