A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT PREP COOK

In this entry-level culinary position, you play a vital role in our kitchen operations. Each day, you come to work ready to support our kitchen staff by preparing our ingredients. You wash and cut vegetables such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, and more. Safety is your first priority as you use knives or other cutting equipment.

After everything is chopped according to our standards, you store them in the proper containers and label them with the date and time. Additionally, you turn on various equipment, such as grills and fryers. As needed, you help with various other opening tasks so that the restaurant can function efficiently. You take pride in the part you play in our success!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RESTAURANT PREP COOK

• Food handler's permit or the ability to acquire one
• Interest in cooking
