Position Summary:
The Host is responsible for greeting and seat restaurant guests while demonstrating an upbeat, energetic, & welcoming personality. Acts as a restaurant concierge, you are the first interaction with our guests.
Hourly Rate: $16/hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- A warm personality, attentive, and presentable.
- Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
- Responds courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests, and all staff.
- Will be responsible for making, changing, and confirming restaurant reservations via OpenTable & phone
- Will follow up on hotel front desk requests regarding reservations, Taste of Guadalajara sign ups, special events, etc.
- Help servers and other restaurant staff polish and roll silverware
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of Host stand
- Ensures opening, ongoing and closing side work is complete and signed off by a manager on duty
- Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
- Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied guest spaces. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised
- Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Miramonte dress code standards
- Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Offers menu advice and suggestions to guests
- Provides general resort information for guests
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort activities as well as any special events
- Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
- Greeting guests as they enter the restaurant, seating guests with a genuine and welcoming smile, inquiring about special occasions or dietary restrictions.
- Using ticket printer to ensure communication regarding guests' reservations and ensure the servers receive the chit’s once the guest has been seated.
- Take to go food orders for walk ups & call ins
- Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Miramonte including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
Qualifications:
Prerequisites:
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and an enthusiastic team player who displays good human relations’ skills.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Possesses valid Food Handler’s card
- Accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Be highly detail orientated
- Must possesses excellent communication skills
- Be professional in appearance and demeanor
- Ensures a teamwork environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma
