Restaurant Host-Hostess

We’re looking to hire an energetic and outgoing host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills. You’ll need excellent communication skills to answer phone inquiries and make reservations. Your main duties include welcoming guests and guiding them to a table that has been cleared and cleaned. You’ll ensure that there are enough seats for the entire party and check that each guest has tableware. Your attire should be professional and neat, with comfortable shoes so you can stand on your feet frequently throughout your shift. $11 - $12 hourly

• Make sure dining room tables and chairs are neatly organized at all times and that condiments on the table are restocked if low
• Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses
• Know the menu items and how dishes are prepared and be able to answer any questions about daily specials
• Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive
• Respond to phone inquiries professionally and secure reservations while ensuring all seating issues are quickly and efficiently handled

• Prior food services, or hospitality service industry experience is preferred but not required
• Responsible for communicating politely with customers, skilled at organizing, and have the ability to troubleshoot customer requests or issues quickly, and efficiently
• Thrive in a fast-moving environment while working in a team situation with extended hours of standing to be expected
• For this position, a high school diploma or the equivalent GED is needed, as well as a good understanding of how to speak and read English
