Job Title: Restaurant Horticulturalist

Classification: Non-Exempt Full Time

Pay Rate: $18-25 per hour with an opportunity for tips

Reports To: General Manager

Summary/Objective: The Creamery is a 46,000 sqf restaurant, beer garden, event, and community gathering space known for its garden inspired outdoor space. This position will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all horticulture projects in and around the Creamery grounds.

Essential Functions

• Performs various horticultural duties such as in-ground planting, propagating, transplanting, irrigating, fertilizing, weeding, and pruning
• Irrigates plants in all zones daily
• Scouts growing zones
• Applies chemical treatments to plants in all zones
• Plans and executes Spring and Winter installs

Requirements:

• Demonstrated skill and ability to self manage and multi task
• At least one year of experience doing horticulture work including grounds keeping in a high end setting such as a golf course or country club
• Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease problems and schedule appropriate treatment.
• Working knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in grounds keeping work
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record over the last three years.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, squatting, and walking on hard surfaces
• Ability to work outdoors in various elements and climates for long periods of time
• Being able to lift and drag 30 pounds, and push and pull 50 pounds unassisted

The Creamery is a hospitality venue where horticulture requirements shift during different times of the year, spring and summer being the busiest. In order to maintain 40 hours per week some restaurant hours/tasks may need to supplement horticulture hours. During the off peak months it will be your choice whether you'd like to work part time on horticulture projects only or add on restaurant shifts to maintain a full time schedule.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
