Wanted immediately: an experienced and highly skilled restaurant General Manager to operate the most iconic establishment in Sisters, Oregon.

Sisters Saloon & Ranch Grill is a fun, high-volume restaurant and bar, seating up to 206 people including the patio, and occupies the most photographed building in Central Oregon, the historic Hotel Sisters, built in 1912.

Our high-quality food is made from the freshest ingredients, including Double R Ranch Steaks, locally sourced produce, burgers from grass-fed, all-natural steers raised right in Sisters, as well as healthy and vegetarian options.

Ideally, we'd like to hire our new General Manager by December 7th so that they can train with our current General Manager for a full month before her last day, January 7th. However, we will hold out for the right candidate if necessary.

-Paid Vacation with flexibility to plan out longer vacations outside of peak season.

-Eat high quality food every day for free, and also come in to dine with family friends every month for a comped meal for your group of up to 4 people.

-You will have a strong support team of FOH supervisors, a kitchen manager, and the owner who is also a veteran restaurant manager.

-Focus POS tracks labor costs in real time and makes it easy to produce all kinds of data reports. This along with full access to Quickbooks Online makes it convenient for you to keep an eye on profitability.

Compensation:

Base salary: $80,000/year paid bi-monthly + Monthly Performance Bonuses + Annual Profit-Sharing Bonus

Monthly bonuses based on specific goals/metrics:

-Labor as a percentage of gross sales

-Purchases as a percentage of gross sales

-Online review rating average for the month

Historically, the biggest bonus earned by the GM has been the annual Profit-Sharing Bonus, for which you qualify if you work an average of at least 45 hours/week. We currently don't have a health insurance plan, however, the end of year Profit-Sharing-Bonus alone usually covers significantly more than the cost of an excellent insurance plan.

Core Responsibilities:

-Responsible for the smooth operation of all departments of the business: FOH, BOH, admin, custodial, banquets/catering.

-All hiring; keeping the business staffed adequately throughout the slow and busy seasons.

-Ensure that every training shift is done properly and professionally.

-Keep adequate stock of dishes, silverware, merchandise, and miscellaneous FOH supplies.

-Maintain and regularly update systems, ei; checklists, preplists, policies documents of each department, and training guides for each position.

-Develop staff: coaching, encouraging and holding accountable, especially the managers and supervisors.

-Maintain high standards for service, food quality, and overall guest experience.

-Maximize profits while maintaining our standards of quality and service.

Day to day Activities:

-Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with each manager to assess where they are at for their monthly goals/bonuses, and to help them come up with solutions to any problems they are facing in their jobs. These meetings are also where you verify if the manager has been keeping up with all their ongoing responsibilities and assigned tasks and assess appropriateness of the workload and responsibilities of the manager.

-Participate in the weekly, all-management-meeting.

-Work at least one FOH floor shift and one BOH shift per week in order to personally stay in touch with how systems are working and how things can be improved (and also to maintain rapport and relationships with staff).

-Conduct brief daily inspections of each department (bar, kitchen, FOH) to ensure standards are being met and checklists are being followed and completed.

-Respond to contact emails from our website.

-Review payroll data entered by the office manager, make any edits if necessary and submit.

-Review schedules made by the FOH Manager and the Kitchen Manager and approve or suggest edits.

-Dedicate some of your admin hours to “not urgent, but important tasks� that move the business forward, such as developing and refining systems, or working towards delegating some of your responsibilities and ongoing tasks to other managers or admin personnel.
