Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking Respiratory Therapists with a valid NY state respiratory care license to join our team at Sunshine Children's Home. Our facility specializes in the care of medically complex children requiring post-acute care. Full-time and Part-time night shifts (6 pm - 6:30 am) are available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
• Administer inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators, and administer therapeutic gases.
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage, assist with breathing exercises, and monitor patient responses.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
• Contribute to discharge planning and patient care conferences.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Adhere to infection-control policies and ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain equipment and seek repairs when needed.
• Stay updated on professional knowledge through education and networking.
• Support team efforts and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• RRT, RCP, CRTT, or eligibility meeting NBRC requirements.
• Valid NY state respiratory care license.
• Ability to follow procedures and lift heavy objects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and in a team.
