Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients with breathing disorders, assessing their needs, and designing appropriate treatment plans. Your expertise in managing respiratory equipment and conducting therapeutic procedures will be crucial to improving the quality of life for our patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients with breathing difficulties and conducting thorough evaluations.
2. Collaborating closely with physicians to develop individualized treatment plans.
3. Administering medications and inhalation treatments to relieve symptoms and improve breathing.
4. Monitoring patients' responses to treatments and adjusting therapy plans as needed.
5. Performing diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests and blood gas analysis.
6. Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
7. Inserting and managing artificial airways if required, including tracheostomy care.
8. Assisting in emergencies and providing respiratory support in intensive care settings.
9. Maintaining accurate and updated patient records to ensure continuity of care.
10. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
11. Adhering to infection control, safety protocols, and other regulatory standards in the workplace.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
2. Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
3. Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
4. Strong knowledge of respiratory conditions, diseases, and their treatment.
5. Experience in assessing and managing patients with various respiratory disorders.
6. Proficiency in operating and maintaining respiratory equipment.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
8. Ability to handle stress and make critical decisions in emergency situations.
9. Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
