Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in the treatment and care of patients with respiratory illnesses or disorders. Your expertise in administering respiratory therapies, conducting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with the healthcare team will ensure optimal patient outcomes and quality care delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administering respiratory therapy treatments and interventions based on physician orders
- Monitoring patient responses to treatments and adjusting therapies as necessary
- Performing diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas analysis, and sleep studies
- Educating patients and their families about respiratory conditions and the proper use of respiratory equipment
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Assessing patients' respiratory status and providing emergency care during critical situations
- Documenting patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining and operating respiratory equipment, ensuring their proper function and cleanliness
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay updated with advancements in respiratory care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid license/certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)
- Strong understanding of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Excellent knowledge and proficiency in respiratory therapy techniques and treatments
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
