Responsible for the day-to-day care, supervision, and security of adolescents; does related work as required. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Youth Care Supervisor.
Job Duties
1. Supervise youth and set appropriate behavioral limits
2. Maintains positive community relations with parents, other agencies, and youth family members.
3. Prepares and maintain files in confidential manner and maintains proper documentation in the staff communication logs regarding client behavior and activity.
4. Maintains a log of incidents, facility maintenance issues and resolutions.
5. Implement social and recreational activities.
6. Provide input into development of treatment plans as appropriate.
7. Participate in group therapy sessions for residents, as necessary.
8. Participate in daily community meetings.
9. Teach constructive behavior and social skills.
10. Performs routine room inspections for cleanliness, contraband and safety hazards. Ensures a safe and secure environment for residents.
11. Maintain appropriate boundaries with residents at all times
12. Provider proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention when required or directed by staff.
13. Be a positive role model for residents.
14. Maintain an orderly and clean-living area.
15. Oversee daily chores.
16. Assume responsibility for transportation.
17. Assist in orientation of new residents.
18. Gain a working knowledge of policies.
19. Other daily duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Ability to walk frequently; occasionally stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to process maturity, sense of confidence and emotional stability.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to be a positive role model for youth.
Ability to evaluate and manage emergencies.
Ability to evaluate and react appropriately to crisis situations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
