Description
This is a full-time position and will include some on-call evenings and weekends in rotation. We offer employee and family benefits enrollment in the first 30 days, including: health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. New employees are subject to a 60 day probationary period followed by a performance and pay review. All new employees for hire must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Overview of Job Role, Activities, and Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for both commercial and residential customers.
- Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
- Travel to job sites in the service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers.
- Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.Maintain good working order of company vehicles including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection forms.
- Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.
- Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. Maintain and submit monthly mileage log forms.
- Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoices at the job site.
- Electronically process credit card payments.
- Obtain customer signature as needed throughout the job process.
- Obtain correct customer information including email address.
- Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.
- Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations, and explain fully to customers what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
- Actively participate in company provided training opportunities on the latest industry technologies.
- Identify and report all potential opportunities for additional business; including, newer system installs, maintenance contracts, accessory installs and any additional products or services.
Job Details
- Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
- Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment
- Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering
- Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and residential buildings
- Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done
- Determine the right material needed for installation work by pre-measuring jobs
- Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm and load them into company vehicle
- Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
- Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers
- Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled out
- Carry out readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings
- Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean
- Perform any other duty that may be directed by management.

Licenses, Certifications and Required Qualifications
- Possession of a Valid TEXAS Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent;
- Current EPA Universal certification
- Pass background check for criminality
- Pass Motor Vehicle Driving Record check
Expected Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years HVAC installation experience
- Ability to write and read in English language
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to operate under severe temperature conditions*
- Ability to work on weekends, at night, and to work overtime
- Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read and write in Spanish language.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Must have an honest and dependable personality
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment
