Resident On-Site Technician

Overview:

This role is designated 100% onsite with a Medicus IT health care client in the Chicago, IL area. This role reports to the Roseland/Pullman/Washington Heights/Morgan Park area.

In this role you will be an initial point of contact for resolving or triaging client requests and providing a world class client experience daily. You will leverage Medicus resources when appropriate to ensure that more complex client issues are resolved in a timely manner using our standard escalations process. You will be this client's hero!!

Role and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic desktop, software, network and server issues following published escalation guidelines to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Assist clients with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, mobile devices, peripheral equipment and software
• Gain valuable hands-on experience by actively assisting Level Twos and Level Threes on IT related projects
• Take part in afterhours On Call rotation as needed – must have a minimum of 6 months experience at MIT and have supervisor approval before joining rotation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Associates degree in technology related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 2+ years of experience in supporting Microsoft Environments
• Required certifications: Network +, Security +
• Hands-on experience with Windows 2016/2012/2008 servers, Active Directory, Backup Technologies, Internet/DNS/E-mail/Communication issues
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and provide own transportation to client sites.
• Preference will be given to local candidates that live in the Boroughs near our client sites.
