Resident Care Supervisor

Homestead manages a Senior Living Facility in Ferndale and is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Care Supervisor to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our facility. If you have management experience and demonstrated compassion towards the elderly, we are looking for you. This is an on-call position. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations, covering shifts as needed, and ensuring the well-being of our seniors, which includes assisting with ADLs. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintain employee files.
• Review shift supervisor checklists.
• Cover open shifts as needed, including call-offs.
• Assist residents with care: dressing, bathing and toileting.
• Follow up on issues, review 24-hour logs –corrective actions for med errors, absences, etc.
• Assess any care complaints.
• Payroll – review for missed punches, missed lunches, etc., and follow up.
• Enter shift pick-ups and shift trades.
• Create staff schedules.
• Schedule and interview applicants.
• Conduct QA audits, review Incident reports/med errors, and put interventions/training in place – involving nurses as necessary.
• Meet with each new admit to discussing needs and expectations, audit of med waiver and private pay charting, updates to med waiver counselors, and med cart audit every other week.
• Order clinical supplies.
• Conduct monthly care audit on all resident assistants, and conduct monthly med pass audit on all med techs.
• End of month: monthly private pay ADL flow sheet changeover, monthly shower sheet distribution, billing support.

Requirements needed:

• Prior experience managing a senior living facility (2 years).
• Able to be on-call for all three shifts, as needed.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and delegate responsibilities to the appropriate individuals.
• Excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations.
• Proficient in organizational, and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as needed for Resident Care/services, must be available to our residents at peak service times and as needed.
