Form of workThe Resident Care Director, reporting to the Wellness Director, is an integral part of the community team. The ideal candidate must be an LPN or RN with a heart for seniors, their families, and the staff they support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
All responsibilities are to be performed within scope of practice per state or provincial
regulations.
• Schedules and supervises staff in order to maximize Resident Care initiatives, ensures
schedules are present in the timekeeping system of record, coordinates time off for
team members and ensures coverage during absences.
• Covers open Charge Nurse and/or Med Tech shifts as needed.
• Monitors, oversees, and administers medications as allowed per state specific
guidelines.
• Provides activities of daily living assistance to residents.
• Provides training and orientation to new team members and ongoing training and in-services to current team members.
• Promotes positive employee relations among department team members and leads
employee engagement and recognition initiatives in order to drive retention.
• Demonstrates flexibility by being open to changes and demonstrating a positive
attitude.
• Prioritizes tasks to ensure that residents' changing needs are met in a timely manner.
• Performs assessments and reassessments to determine resident needs and
recommending appropriate service plan updates as needed.
• Ensures resident and family satisfaction, researches any service complaints, and resolves
in a timely manner with follow up to the resident or family.
• Champions continual improvement for ways to improve and promote quality and
monitors the department for any unsafe issues; immediately report any concerning
quality issues to the Resident Services Director or Executive Director.
• Functions as a role model and mentor for team members by being punctual, neat and
clean in appearance and adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
