As a Researcher and Catalogue Writer, you’ll be responsible for researching, cataloging, and writing about high-quality collector cars we offer for sale via Hagerty live auction events, Hagerty Marketplace on-line auctions or private sales. The ideal candidate for this position has strong writing ability, strong knowledge about and passion for collector cars, and is motivated by in-depth research and interacting with marque experts and historians.

What you’ll do
- Catalogue, research, and write descriptions of motor cars on consignment
- Work with clients and Car Specialists to ensure well-written, accurate descriptions
- Assist our Archivist with the processing of car files
- Update the vehicle database for each consignment she/he has written
- Assist with the cataloging of private collections when necessary
- Provide knowledge of assigned consignments to the Administration, PR, Marketing, and Client Services departments when needed
- Travel to onsite auctions and coordinating the onsite research-related responsibilities
- Other activities as assigned by manager, including coordination of print procurement
This might describe you
- Bachelor’s degree, with a preferred major in liberal arts (History, Literature, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of collector cars (beyond interest or hobby)
- Skilled and experienced writer, with strong ability to also proofread descriptions written by peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver under time pressure and deadlines
- High level of integrity and work ethic, positive mindset with strong orientation for teamwork and collaboration

- This position can be worked as a remote position within the United States.
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
