Researcher

The Los Angeles Business Journal, the leading source of news and information for the business community, is seeking an enterprising and organized Researcher.

The Researcher, through careful analysis and coverage of the region’s businesses across various industries, will deliver the weekly “The List” product across all our print and digital properties. In this role, the Researcher will study industry trends and communicate directly with companies and executives to create “The List” as well as our special edition “Book of Lists.”

The person in this role will report to the Editor-in-Chief and will provide coverage with context. The Researcher is ideally a self-driving, deadline- and detail-oriented person enthusiastic about print and digital media.

The Los Angeles Business Journal is a weekly print publication with a 40-year history of covering the dynamic business community in L.A. County. The San Fernando Valley Business Journal is an award-winning B2B media company that has been serving the San Fernando Valley Community of Business for more than 25 years. The organizations publish content from the print edition as well as additional original content online, in daily e-newsletters and on social media.

Responsibilities:

· Research data to create the weekly “The List” ranking of various businesses and organizations.

· Develop a deep knowledge of people, companies and business trends across the region.

· Build and maintain a network of sources and relationships with key players across the business community.

Requirements:

· Must be adept at research and possess excellent writing, editing and communication skills.

· Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Must be able to commute to our office located in West Los Angeles.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25 to $26 an hour
