Form of workMeta is seeking a Research Scientist Intern to join our AI for Productivity Team. The goal of our team is to seize the benefits of advanced AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance productivity, efficiency, and creativity. We are seeking individuals passionate in areas such as Software Engineering, Language and Multimodal Foundation models, Compilers, Programming Languages, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning. Our team at Meta AI offers twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long internships and we have various start dates throughout the year. To learn more about our research, visit https://ai.meta.com.
- Perform research that enables learning the semantics of data (text & code) for text and code generation applications.
- Applying LLMs to solve various Software Engineering (SE) and Programming Languages (PL) problems.
- Idea generation with research mentors, review literature and existing solutions of a challenging real-world research problem.
- Develop novel solutions, implement prototypes, and perform extensive experiments and model quality evaluations to test the proposed solutions against relevant benchmarks, analyze the results and verify the conclusions.
- Present research outcomes to internal and/or external audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, PhD degree in the field of Software Engineering, Programming Languages, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or a related STEM field
- Experience in one or more of the following domains: Machine Learning or Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Language and Multimodal Foundation models, developer productivity
- Experience in Python, C++, or other related languages
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading AI and AI for software development workshops or conferences
- Experience advancing AI techniques in Natural Language Processing, Large Language and Multimodal Foundation models
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
