Job Description
Summary
The Research Associate I will support immunodiagnostic assay development following the product development process. She/he will work under the direction of the Research Scientist’s guidance to execute daily experiments, analyze data sets, write protocols/documents, and generate reports.
Responsibilities
• Executes assay verification and validation with the team.
• Participates in projects for Biomarker/IVD assay development in various disease areas.
• Ensures quality in work, such as raw data records being accurate, complete, and in appropriate order, and meeting protocol and SOP specifications and GLP requirements.
• Assists with the establishment of protocols and procedures.
• Executes the evaluation and qualification of materials following established protocols and procedures.
• Assists with identifying needs and sourcing of materials, samples, and other critical materials, as well as supplies.
• Participates in daily lab operation duties
• Executes other assignments by upper management as needed.
Education
- BS in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemistry, or science/engineering related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of industry experience in IVD immunodiagnostics fields, or other related diagnostic fields.
• Experience with ELISA, antibody/antigen selection and conjugation, protein purification, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, etc. is a plus.
Requirement
• Must be willing to handle human whole-blood, plasma and/or serum samples.
Preferred Skills
· Hands-on experience with biochemistry laboratory tasks
• Excellent organizational skills along with strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications
• Familiarity with immunoassays or automated instrument is a plus
• Experience writing, reviewing, and executing standard operating procedures, protocols, and reports is a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
