Job Overview
The Buffett Early Childhood Institute is seeking a graduate research assistant to support research on funding across the Early Childhood system. The Workforce Planning and Development Unit has developed funding maps and models for the Nebraska Early Childhood system using a quality-oriented cost-based approach. This paid Graduate Assistantship would begin in the summer or fall semester and would require a commitment of approximately 20 hours a week. Topics that GRA's may support include Early Childhood systems change, workforce well-being, and reducing educational opportunity gaps.

Job Responsibilities
This section describes some of the responsibilities that may be expected of GRA's, though not necessarily perform all of the activities listed; nor is the list exhaustive.
• Assist with the development of a national Early Childhood education finance database
• Contribute to the development and delivery of customized technical assistance to state partners
• Support the customization of interactive visual tools for project-specific needs
• Support data management, cleaning, and preparation for Tableau import
• Document project decision points and processes (e.g., create codebooks, describe protocol followed)
• Contribute to dissemination of research findings, including reports, manuscripts, and presentations
• Participate in meetings with internal and external partners
• Assist with the writing of grant proposals
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Graduate student in applied economics, labor economics, educational policy, public administration, or related discipline
• Coursework in topics such as educational financing, systems analysis and budgeting, workforce issues and state economic policy, human capital investments, or business and financial strategies impacting Early Childhood education
• Experience working with data
• Demonstrated ability to document project activities
