The Research and Development Chemist is responsible for researching and developing materials for use in the roofing industry. A passion for profitable technical innovation, communication, timely product execution and the ability to work well in a team environment. This will include researching additives, filler, recycled, bio-based and other materials that meet specific company and customer requirements. Creates new concepts and provides solutions to complex technical processes and product modifications as required to optimize product performance. Effectively interacts with peers, departments and customers to share scientific knowledge/interpretation and provide technical advice and consultation.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Polymer, Material Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred. At least 3 years of industrial experience in a related industry, 5-10 years' experience preferred. Experience or familiarity within the roofing or building material industry preferred.
