Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Milwaukie, OR
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
  • Apply technical expertise to research and test potential methods; analyze data; define process and equipment requirements; and develop success criteria and specifications.
  • Maintain clear and detailed reaction notes and data to support development of company intellectual property.
  • Prepare clear and concise project summaries including weekly summary report of activities, projects, and priorities including needs and risks for achievement of objectives to established standards and timelines.
  • Collaborate frequently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish departmental and company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS and/or equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy to use software to prepare and revise reports and documents, analyze and present data.
  • Ability, aptitude, and willingness to gain knowledge/experience lacking in the above are prerequisites.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience; manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with guidance on priority to meet established deadlines; and to respond positively and effectively to rapidly changing priorities and departmental needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in techniques for metallurgical characterization (e.g., diffraction methods, FIB/SEM, STEM/TEM, PALS, SIMS, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in electrochemistry related fields such as corrosion, electroplating is a plus.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $29-$37/hour.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
