CellFE develops and utilizes proprietary microfluidic cell transfection technology for intracellular delivery of diverse genetic payloads to address the needs of contract manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies that specialize in ex-vivo cell therapy.
Position Summary: The Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate will be responsible for conducting experiments and data collection using CellFE technology to support development goals/projects. This position will initially report to the Head of Science.
Location: This position is laboratory based in our corporate headquarters in Alameda, CA
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work closely with science team members to advance fundamental understanding of the technology with application(s) to current and future products
- Perform a variety of regular laboratory procedures, such as, cell culture, flow cytometry, and PCR to assistant experiments
- Perform transfection experiments in various human cells and payloads using CellFE and conventional platforms
- Analyze experimental data independently and present results in a clear and critical manner at Scientific meetings
- Accurately records and processes data in a timely manner
- Follows the company's standard operating procedures and best practices in lab safety.
- Collaborate with team members to generate data for various applications
- Maintain clear, cooperative and positive communication.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or MS degree in life science or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in mammalian cell culture and basic laboratory techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, or sterile technique
- Previous work experience in a biotech/medical device company or contract research organization is a plus
- General laboratory knowledge along with the ability to execute experiments efficiently and independently.
- Experience of human immune cell culture, mammalian cell culture, and transfection with analysis
- Experience of cell assay readout such as flow cytometry
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and data entry

Physical Requirements: Physical demands require ability to lift 40 lbs overhead and stand for prolonged periods of time
The expected salary range for the Research Associate is $100,000 - $110,000 and Sr. Research Associate is $110,000 - $120,000 is based on the primary location of Alameda, CA. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
