Research Associate

Candidates must possess an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE (REQUIRED) to be considered. Candidates applying, must be open to working weekends and/or evenings - as well as, working onsite at our Rockville, MD location.

To meet the requirements of this position, the following is required:

• A B.S. in biology, biochemistry, or a similar field from an accredited institution.
• Zero (0) to three (3) years of relevant laboratory experience. This may be from school or work experience.
• U.S. Citizen and willing to maintain a U.S. clearance for this position.

What your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

• Timely processing of customer samples.
• Acceptance and cataloguing of samples upon arrival.
• Sample preparation.
• Molecular biological techniques, including qPCR and Next Generation Sequencing.
• Immunological techniques, including ELISAs and Luminex platforms.
• Microbiological techniques, including using aseptic techniques to identify organisms using classical microbiological identification methods.
• Testing and troubleshooting unique materials, extraction/PCR procedures, and stability measures as required.
• Support senior management and the scientific lead in data collection and provides clear results.
• Other laboratory requirements, such as maintaining a lab notebook, inventory, cleaning of laboratory space, and communicating with teams members and leadership.

Pay is commensurate with experience. Shift differential is available dependent upon shift assignment.
