PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct independent experimentation with precision and expertise.
- Collaborate with fellow scientists to craft comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ensuring optimal laboratory performance.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in the reception and processing of laboratory specimens according to standardized methodologies.
- Participate in intricate Validation and End-to-End testing studies.
- Employ advanced techniques in LIMS, database queries, and Excel to meticulously track and verify the accuracy of processed specimens.
- Maintain peak performance of laboratory equipment and instruments, promptly identifying and resolving any malfunctions through troubleshooting.
- Perform troubleshooting to uphold the efficiency of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Acquire comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge laboratory methodologies..
- Apply advanced molecular biology techniques proficiently in laboratory testing.
- Stay up-to-date with ongoing Natera training requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA in a biological science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of Molecular Biology laboratory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Moderate hands-on experience with nucleic acid techniques (eg. DNA manipulation, serial dilutions, DNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, DNA quantitation and analysis by Labchip & BioAnalyzer)
- Hands-on experience with NGS (preferred)
- Proficient in Excel and basic data analysis skills
- Practical knowledge of LIMS/database query tools (preferred).
- Experience with laboratory robotics platforms (optional).
- Must have proven interpersonal, communication, computer, and technical skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
