The Division of Epidemiology's Infectious Disease Research Program is in search of a Research Assistant/Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have interest and/or experience in a wide variety of topics including epidemiology, public health, microbiology, statistics, and mathematical modeling. The Research Assistant/Analyst will support multiple investigators and will have the opportunity to help with a variety of research projects. The incumbent will perform literature reviews and gather, organize, and summarize information for the research team. They may also be involved in analysis and the development of publications. Responsibilities
  1. Performs literature reviews and synthesizes the information into summary reports.
  2. Searches sources such as reference works, documents, statistical records and evaluates applicability of collected data to research subject.
  3. Compiles data from a variety of sources.
  4. Enters data into the computer system.
  5. May contribute to and edit research papers, project reports, proposals and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation.
  6. Maintains files and records of research data.
  7. Drafts correspondence to answer inquiries and respond to requests about the projects.
  8. May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data.
  9. May statistically analyze data to include calculating the mean, median, and standard deviation, plotting scatter grams and performing multiple regression analysis in addition to other statistical computations.
  10. May work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
