Job Summary
This project focuses on the tensile strength of hair, analyzing its breaking point and behavior under stress. You will be responsible for isolating individual hair strands, preparing them for testing, and conducting tensile strength measurements using specialized equipment.
Duties
- Secure and ethically source hair samples according to research protocols.
- Carefully isolate single hair strands using microsurgical tools (training provided).
- Prepare hair samples for tensile testing using specialized techniques.
- Operate tensile testing equipment to measure hair strength and record data.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks.
- Assist with data analysis and potentially contribute to manuscript preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferred, but not necessary) in Biology, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in research and a meticulous approach to laboratory work.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
