Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Research Analyst to join our team! The right candidate will provide high-quality legal and non-legal research and analysis to support the delivery of legal services, knowledge, and business practices of the firm. The Researcher will create and deliver both visual, and actionable work product in innovative ways using the latest technology methods. This individual will also be responsible for monitoring service requests and communication to help manage departmental workflow across time zones.
Responsibilities- Learn, understand and utilize emerging and rapidly evolving technologies such as prompt engineering for both extractive and generative AI tools
- Responsible for successful and timely completion of legal and non-legal research projects submitted by firm members
- Specialty research in due diligence and restricted party screens involving domestic and international companies, including government enforcement investigations
- Research of expert witnesses, judges, and arbitrators and in-depth reports
- Research of statutory, legislative and regulatory history and analysis
- Educate firm members on the legal technologies available, integration of these tools within the workflow, and knowledge management best practices
- Facilitate the continual process of identifying the best practices and sources of useful knowledge by staying abreast on current and emerging research resources, technologies and knowledge management trends
- Bachelor's Degree required; Graduate degree in Information Science, Business or JD preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a consultative role in a law firm with a solid understanding of the legal client/matter lifecycle required
- Experience as a practicing attorney or paralegal preferred
- Advanced computer/technical skills and experience with complex online research tools and platforms strongly preferred
- Experience with MS Office, Teams, and other applications strongly preferred
