ABOUT THE ROLE
The Analytics Reporting and Operations Engineer will be a critical member of the analytics team, responsible for designing custom reports, maintaining operational dashboards, and ensuring the reliability of our data reporting systems. They will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, setting up new tools for self-service reports, and generating ad-hoc reports to support day-to-day operational needs and decision-making. This role will be crucial in maintaining high data integrity, troubleshooting issues, and driving operational excellence through insightful analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement and manage self-service reporting tools, empowering users with the data they need in an accessible format.
- Utilize scripting tools to automate tasks and workflows as well as generate reports for operational stakeholders.
- Maintain and optimize operational dashboards in Looker Studio or similar BI tool.
- Monitor all automated reporting systems for failures, quickly identifying and resolving any issues to minimize impact on operations.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within reports by implementing robust data validation processes and troubleshooting methodologies; Follow up directly with operational teams to resolve issues and recommend data capture best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing reporting to enhance performance, usability, and accessibility.
- Develop a deep understanding of our data sources, data warehousing solutions, and ETL frameworks to optimize data flows and reporting efficiency.
- Recommend new tools and leverage capabilities of cloud platforms like AWS to improve our analytics offerings.
- Provide technical support for analytics tools, including training non-technical users on new tools or features.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience using Python or similar to design, develop and implement custom reporting solutions.
- Experience in setting up, customizing, and managing self-service reporting tools and platforms.
- Proficient in SQL and database management systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to quickly resolve issues that arise within the analytics infrastructure.
- Experience maintaining operational dashboards in Looker Studio or a similar BI tool.
