Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate in a warehouse environment
- Takes product from one package and splits it or combines it into other packaging
- Required to use gloves, hair and beard nets, masks, lab coats and /or other personal protective equipment. You will be required to wear appropriate clothing to follow food safety guidelines.
- Uses electronic scales and computer equipment in the repack process
- Loading and unloading using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other means. You will be required to pull heavy carts or pallet jacks.
- Counting, weighing and verifying product is repacked correctly. Product is pulled from cases and pallets that may be on the floor or on a pallet, racking or shelves, and out of cardboard boxes and bins. It is repacked into cardboard boxes and / or plastic bags.
- Walking and standing during the entire shift.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds in a safe manner. Employees are required to bend over and down, twist, reach overhead.
- Cleaning the workspace to maintain food safety requirements
- Testing and reporting as required
- Positive attitude to maintain a harmonious work environment
- Issues with product should be reported to management
- Operate in a safe manner to ensure that the employee, and other employes are protected at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to count, weigh, and evaluate product
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability repeatedly lift 50 pound packages, twist, reach overhead, bend, and stand for the entire shift
- Ability to safely operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other product moving equipment.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Physical effort is required for lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds
- Work is normally performed in a chilled warehouse environment, approximately 32 degrees F.
- There can be heavy physical effort
- Must be 18 years old or older per OSHA requirements
