An industry leader in Pennsylvania and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and services for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building, and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for Rental Service Technician in our Harrisburg, location.
Operate and inspect heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
Follow rental check list to evaluate equipment condition.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Comply with all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Schedule maintenance for equipment and keep equipment service records.
Read and understand operating manuals and technical drawings.
Assist in loading and unloading new and customer equipment.
Keep equipment parked in the yard organized and neat.
Effectively communicate and actively participate within a goal-orientated team environment.
Actively participate in problem solving with team members.
Provide equipment operation training as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work overtime as required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as needed.
Technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Most work is performed in a garage environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Temperatures vary from season to season. Job requires extended periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching depending on the machine that needs maintenance within the 8-10 hour work day. Technicians need the ability to lift at least 50lbs with an occasional lift of up to 100lbs with assistance of a crane or equipment.Education: Vocational TrainingEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
