Description:
Apply advanced level 3 technical support expertise to resolve highly complex customer issues. Accept escalated requests from other technical team members. Use independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Work closely with incident management team in resolving customer issues. Identifies and provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex technical problems. Provide problem determination and resolution for customer issues. Develop and implement resolutions to identified problems, and follows standard practices and procedures. Identify and document with management to proactively revise current procedures and tools to improve customer satisfaction. May need to engage or escalate to more senior resources or to parent companies (Cisco,VMware,RedHat,IBM) to resolve more complex issues. Will be expected to develop and participate in solutions based Converged Infrastructure training and problem resolution skills development. Develops broad knowledge of the organization’s and relates it to day-to-day issues. Candidate Responsibilities • Work includes: • Linux support for AWS and Azure customers • Support for OS software, such as clustering software used by Excalibur’s SAP project. This includes: o Mounting HANA servers o EFS filesystems S4/SPP/HANA o OS security patching of clustering software • 24x7 cloud operations support of operating level changes, including: o Installing binaries on servers o Setting up UNIX mount points and SAP file systems o Linux troubleshooting o Other activities required to support operating systems from a cloud perspective Additional On-prem Linux support - Linux System Administrator for RHEL 6/7/8 virtual environment. Tasks include scripting, troubleshooting, system administration, Level 3 support and project management participation. Typical Day Administration for RHEL 6/7/8 virtual environment. Tasks include scripting, troubleshooting, system administration, Level 3 support and project management participation. Also support of clustering software in the Cloud. 8x5 M-F Technical Skills • Fluency in two or more of the following products • 5-7 years Experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.x, 6.x • Experience Scripting with Perl or BASH • Experience with RedHat Network(RHN) • Networking – Nexus switches - CCNA certified or relevant work experience • 2 - 3 years Experience with VMWare vSphere • Compute – Cisco UCS Blade servers or IBM X Series • Fluency in advanced troubleshooting skills, methodologies and processes Experience with a converged Infrastructure Platform( Vblock, FlexPod, PureFlex) is a plus
