Position Summary:
The Employment Specialist Supervisor will be managing and working alongside their team to support people with disabilities in their journey to find a job. The supervisor will provide their team with guidance on how to effectively communicate, establish attainable goals, and utilize tools such as skill assessments to understand the candidate’s path from training to application.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance and training by defining goals, communicating objectives, monitoring team performance, and any new process that affects the team directly/indirectly.
- Generate, understand, and communicate the defined metrics for success to direct report and team.
- Monitor and provide feedback on the effectiveness and quality of Employment Specialists.
- Utilizing active listening skills to understand Team concerns that impact the candidates we serve and working with the team to find solutions.
- Handle escalated calls and issues the Employment Specialist Team Lead is unable to resolve.
- Serve as backup to assist the team if there are any shortages.
- Track and approve time off requests from staff.
- Provide great customer service to our candidates.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of prior supervisory experience is required
- Must pass a Federal Background check.
- High School Diploma / G.E.D.
- Bachelor’s Communications, Business Administration, psychology, or other relevant areas a plus
- 2-5 years prior experience as a Job Coach, social worker, or similar
- Prior experience working with the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program and knowledge of SSI/SSDI benefits a plus
- Strong customer service skills. Sensitivity and patience to work with individuals with disabilities a plus
- Excellent organizational skills. \
- Prior experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; must read, write, speak, and hear English.
