Remote Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene Consultant

RMEC is looking for an Industrial Hygiene (IH) Consultant to perform professional Industrial Hygiene surveys and evaluations for a wide range of facilities.

Under general supervision, the IH will also:

• Identify engineering controls and work practices that reduce employee injury, illness and workers’ compensation costs
• Provide high quality written IH reports for review by technical staff

Working at RMEC

This is a TELE-WORKING position; working from your residence, which requires frequent travel to assigned accounts with mileage and per diem reimbursement. Air travel may be required. Flexible work schedules within expected travel expectations and CIH Oversight for future certification as a CIH!

Desired Qualifications and Skills for this position are:

• Thorough knowledge/understanding of the Industrial Hygiene field, including ventilation and noise assessments, air sampling for contaminants, and supporting indoor air quality investigations including mold and other bioaerosols
• Effective written and oral communication, including outstanding report and safety article writing skills
• Professional experience providing Industrial Hygiene surveys and consultations in the workplace
• Formal education in Industrial Hygiene and at least three years of experience performing IH duties
• Effective use of tools and methods to anticipate, evaluate, recognize and control occupational health hazards
• Ability to interpret workplace safety regulations regarding occupational safety and health
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to interpret charts, graphs and mechanical relationships
• Ability to research and summarize complex IH related topics
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and as part of a team
• Ability to travel overnight daily and weekly
• Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license and insurance

Required for this position: bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific field and 3 years’ experience as an Industrial Hygienist
