Spanish Speaking Therapist, Immigration Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) Bilingual (English/Spanish) P/T & F/T

 

Therapist, Adult Program - Bilingual (English/Spanish) Hours: Full-time & Part time 20-(40 hours weekly) working from home.

North Star Wellness Center is strengthening and preserving families, North Star Wellness Center is at the forefront of creating and implementing solutions to meet the growing needs of vulnerable families in the U.S.

As a therapist, you will be primarily responsible for providing. weekly individual therapy sessions with newly arriving clients (primarily Spanish speaking).

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirement.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly therapy sessions once per week with clients in the program, while meeting the pre-defined and stipulated minimum billable hours in office requirements per week as defined by supervisor and program expectations.
  • Conduct weekly individual sessions with clients or as outlined in the therapeutic treatment plan.
  • Complete and report on client intakes, closing summaries, and psychosocial documentations in a timely manner and in accordance with agency standards.
  • Administer the intake psychosocial assessment within 24-48 hours of client's arrival to the program.
  • ·Administer the trafficking assessments within the defined number of days of the client's arrival to the program.
  • Provide additional counseling sessions by phone or zoom, as needed, to assist in the process.
  • Attend meetings with the treatment team and actively participate in meetings.
  • Meet weekly with the Program Coordinator and/or Program Manager to share updates on client's progress.
  • Attend training provided internally and in the community and apply newly gained knowledge in providing services.
  • Translate both written and verbal communication for program clientele and staff.
  • Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction, and to evaluate client participation and progress.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts.
  • Effectively utilize appropriate systems for data gathering, submission, and tracking client services rendered in accordance with time-bound expectations based on contract requirements, agency expectations, and program policy.
  • Establish and maintain referral and community resources.
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
  • Stay up-to-date on treatment modalities and complete trainings as required by funding sources, by attending conferences, seminars and journal reading.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • At least two (2) years of post-master's program experience in child and family services or counseling with an active LCSW or LCPC;
  • Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a master's level degree;
  • Active professional licensure in the state of the work location;
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish;
  • Prior knowledge and experience with trauma informed treatment modalities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience working with families from diverse cultures with sensitivity to cultural differences and norms;
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients to help them adjust to new life circumstances;
  • Demonstrated ability with providing excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
  • Active motor vehicle license and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a Home Land Security clearance;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency North Star Wellness Center Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise, i.e., computers, printers, and light traffic. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
