Predictive Reliability Specialist - $15k sign on bonus
Job Overview:
We are in search of a Machinery Vibration and Condition Monitoring Analyst for our East Chicago, IN location. This hands-on role supports multiple plant locations in our southern geographic region and reports to the Northern Reliability Center Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

The analyst will collaborate with the Regional Reliability team and plant personnel to ensure the reliability of rotating equipment and achieve desired facility performance goals. This involves analyzing and reporting the health of rotating process equipment to proactively identify and address component, equipment, and system issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer predictive program and condition monitoring for rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, motors).
  • Monitor equipment condition using vibration data, oil analysis, and critical operating process data.
  • Manage Vibration & Oil Analysis Databases.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting support for vibration instrumentation and data collector issues.
  • Train new employees in vibration data collection.
  • Identify vibration point locations and develop data collection routes.
  • Install and target point vibration systems on rotating equipment.
  • Perform field diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Report equipment deficiencies using EAM (CMMS).
  • Consult with the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on corrective actions.
  • Work with Operations, Maintenance Personnel, Reliability Specialists, and Region Planners to prioritize repairs.
  • Participate in RCA processes, providing relevant vibration and oil analysis history.
  • Assist in identifying and purchasing predictive equipment spare parts.
  • Travel domestically approximately 15% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering with 2+ years in rotating equipment/mechanical maintenance/reliability engineering in an industrial setting, or 5+ years of experience in rotating equipment maintenance without a degree.
  • Category I certification in vibration analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of oil analysis and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Strong verbal communication, team interaction, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in standard software (MS Office, Email, CMMS) and vibration data acquisition software.
  • Ability to interpret vibration and oil analysis data.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment assembly fits and tolerances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Higher-level certifications in vibration and oil analysis.
  • Experience with specific predictive maintenance software and equipment.
  • Expertise in installing and maintaining vibration systems.
  • Skills in balancing rotating equipment.
  • Experience with specific CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various mechanical equipment.
