Summary
About the Position: Serves as a Regulatory Program Technician furnishing regulatory assistance and administrative, clerical and logistical support to the Section or Branch.

Duties
  • Utilize database and spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort or calculate date for reports.
  • Create and amend purchase requests, receiving reports, invoices, and ensures payments are made by due dates using a financial management database.
  • Ensures payments are made by due dates.
  • Maintain inventories and accountability for government property, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintains time and attendance records such as leave, overtime, and credit time.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain administrative records, and electronic files.
  • Receive and route permit applications, inquiries, enforcement information, and other permit action documentation.
  • Utilize data entry and retrieval web-based information system to create, update, and compile reports ensuring database information is accurate.
  • Serve as training coordinator for the field office, facilitating staff enrollment, and ensuring that information is logged into the training system.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Typing Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience GS-06:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties: preparing correspondence, using financial management systems, ordering supplies, timekeeping, data processing, project tracking and files management, and assist in the conversion of paper records to electronic format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Specialized Experience GS-07:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties, coordinating and evaluating permit applications, preparing and finalizing permit authorizations, using a financial management system, timekeeping, data processing, project tracking and the conversion of paper records to electronic format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
