Minimum Qualifications:- JD, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney litigation and regulatory.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience with litigation, regulatory or corporate investigations, including strategically addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
- Experience engaging with regulators, including State AGs, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
- Experience with high risk incident response within internet and/or technology companies.
- Experience working with public company boards and their counsel, including special committees and audit committees.
- Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments, managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with privacy, data security, or consumer protection subject matter expertise.
About the Job:
As a Regulatory and Litigation Counsel, you'll join a dynamic team dedicated to overseeing complex internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and litigation pertaining to the way we build our products to serve the needs and build the trust of our users, including protecting their data from external threats and ensuring their privacy. You will work closely with An American Multinational Technology Company and other Alphabet companies' Legal, Data Security and Privacy, Public Policy, Office of Compliance and Integrity, Communications, Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to identify, prevent, and proactively solve and adapt to Alphabet's highest risks.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $217,000-$318,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:
- Assess and respond to complex regulatory inquiries and investigations, shareholder demands, and litigation involving our products and businesses around the world.
- Support other Legal, Product, and Engineering teams involved in conducting investigations and responding to data incidents, including by developing best practices for conducting investigations, training, tracking and monitoring regulatory inquiries and investigations, and responding to matters involving heightened risk.
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams proactively to advise them of regulatory risk.
