Job Position:Regulatory Labeling Specialist
Target Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000/year, depending on level of relevant experience and qualifications
Employment Classification: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work cross functionally with operations, QC, marketing and sales for compliance on label and packaging content as well as new product launches
• Review and revise product labels to comply with USDA/FDA food regulations
• Responsible for submitting labels to the USDA and keeping USDA approvals on file
• Creates nutritional facts panels using USDA nutrient database.
• Maintain and follow industry regulations and/or customer-specific requirements
• Manage regulatory approval process for packaging and marketing/advertising material to ensure accuracy of claims/labeling and compliance with food regulations, food safety, specifications, product usage, nutrition and health claims in the USA, Canada, and Mexico
• Represent regulatory affairs in product development meetings to ensure compliance with all food regulations is taken into consideration throughout the development process
• Create and update internal and customer-facing product specifications for finished goods
• Maintain database of ingredient and packaging supplier documentation, and update according to established frequency. Onboard new suppliers for QA review and approval
• Ensure all product, formula, ingredient, and packaging records are kept organized and complete for use in product development, labeling, and historical access
• Independently review changes in products, product specifications, and manufacturing processes to assess regulatory implications of the change
• Manage change control process to update labels, specifications, or documentations, as needed.
• Fulfill customer or internal requests for information with accurate and professional responses.
• Maintain product and facility records in customer portals. Enter new items and update existing items, as needed
• Assist QA with technical documentation in support of compliance audits, such as BRC, FSIS, and Organic
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Regulatory Labeling experience. USDA experience, preferred
• Experience in the food and beverage industry
• BA/BS in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology or applied science strongly preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills are required
• Ability to pay close attention to detail is a must
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and focus on urgent requests, when necessary. Ability to re-prioritize based on the needs of the company and project managers
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently manage workload, and meet deadlines
• Proven record in maintaining the highest standards of documentation, labeling and application of regulatory requirements and policies
• Strong sense of ethics and desire to work proactively as a team
