River Valley Cooperative is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Safety + Compliance team. We are looking for collaborative team players who are ready and excited to make a difference.
Our Safety Coordinator will assist in in the planning, execution and coordination of all company safety and assigned compliance activities and programs to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment for all employees and to provide assurance of compliance in the areas assigned.

What You'll Do:
- Responsible for assisting in the implementation of safety programming including training, safety inspections, leading the safety committee functions, and providing safety materials for all areas of the company operations.
- Be a contact for Workers Compensation claims with employees as well as outside vendors. Investigate all workers comp. claims and document findings.
- Investigate and report immediately to the CEO, V.P. of Operations and Safety and Compliance Director any company accidents they are made aware of. Investigate accidents where appropriate.
- Regularly do onsite inspections of River Valley facilities and report findings. Support location personnel in addressing actionable findings in an expedient manner.
- Implement DOT, OSHA, Environmental compliance as required or requested.
- Provides numerous governmental filings and postings of River Valley assets and operations as required or requested.
- Build positive relationships with industry, community, and governmental partners.

What is required:
- Bachelors Degree and/or relevant work experience in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Engineering or other related fields
- Operations experience desired, preferably in an agriculture-related field
- BasicComputer skills required. Ability to adapt to multiple software programs.
- Valid drivers license required.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals and vapors, and moving machinery on occasion as part of this position. May be required to work long hours in season, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
