Job description

Position Overview:

The Regulatory Compliance and Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the management of the bank's BSA Compliance department and developing quality control standards and supervision metrics. Additionally, this role will address multiple non-financial risk mitigation, legal, and regulatory matters for the institution. The Regulatory Compliance and Risk Manager will report directly to the Board of Directors and the bank's CEO and/or CFO. Depending on the bank's growth and the role's development, this position may have employees under supervision.

Responsibilities:

1. Support Compliance and Quality Department

  • Prepare and evaluate quarterly metrics on the effectiveness of the alerts and notifications supervision system, volume, response status, etc., and provide recommendations to the Compliance Committee of the Board.
  • Supervise and evaluate, through sampling, the quality of analysts' responses to alerts and notifications and provide information to the Compliance Officer.
  • Assist the Compliance Department in case/investigation resolution.
  • Provide support in other related matters as needed.

2. Non-Financial Risk Mitigation

  • Responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining all Bank policies approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate the periodic review of procedures by bank departments.
  • Conduct annual bank risk assessments in coordination with internal auditors.
  • Prepare annual risk assessments in key areas, such as BSA/AML, bank transfers, IT (in coordination with an external provider), ACH, mortgage operations, deposit operations, and compliance.

3. Legal and Regulatory

  • Maintain coordination with legal advisors on various matters addressed by the Bank.
  • Evaluate and ensure the Bank's compliance with current and new regulations and standards.
  • Lead projects related to Regulatory Compliance assessment.

4. Professional Development

  • As required by the bank's growth and role development, the employee may acquire additional responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related areas.
  • Previous experience in Compliance and Risk management roles in the banking or financial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Project management skills and ability to oversee Regulatory Compliance across the bank.
